Naturism in Paris: Where to Go, When and How?

Naturisme à Paris - FKK Paris - Naturism in Paris

Nus au soleil naturist booth at the international naturist beach volleyball tournamentIn April 2026, I came to setup my very first creator booth in Paris. On Saturday, April 18, I was at the Sand Fabrik for the naturist beach volleyball tournament, and the next day, at the Roger Le Gall swimming pool for the ANP ChampionNAT'. If you want to know more about what went on behind the scenes of this event, I shared this experience in the article My first booth in Paris. These two days really showed me how active and tight-knit the Parisian community is.

When looking to practice naturism in Paris or the surrounding areas, the same questions quickly come up: where are you allowed to be naked? In which swimming pools? And where can you escape for the weekend not too far from the capital?

I have gathered all the essential addresses and practical information here. Whether it's for a first outing in the woods or to find a weekday swim slot, here is everything you need to know.

Can you be naked in Paris?

Nudity is not permitted everywhere on the streets of Paris. However, a municipal decree was established together with local associations and the French Naturist Federation (FFN) to create an official outdoor space. This area is located in the Bois de Vincennes, within a designated and safe setting for everyone.

The naturist area in the Bois de Vincennes

Opened in 2017 with the Association des Naturistes de Paris and the FFN, it is the must-visit spot during the warmer months.

Location

The space is located in the 12th arrondissement, on a large meadow in the Bois de Vincennes beneath the bird sanctuary, between Allée Royale and Route Dauphine. Wooden signs installed at the access points clearly indicate the zone.

Dates and opening hours (2026 Season)

The area is only accessible during the warm season. To give you a precise guide, here are the official dates and hours for the 2026 season:

  • 2026 Opening: from March 29 to October 25, 2026.
  • 2026 Hours: from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM (March 29 to September 30), then from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM (October 1 to October 25).

Note: The area is closed during winter. Exact dates for the 2027 season will be published in the spring by city hall.

What is it like on site?

Access is free, open, and mixed (naturists and clothed visitors mix naturally without issue). A code of conduct charter is posted at the entrance.

Tip: Remember to bring a large towel or a fabric seat pad (very practical for sitting on the grass), water, and sunscreen. And above all: photos and videos are strictly forbidden without direct consent from people.

Where to go around Paris?

Four naturist grounds in Île-de-France

Good news: you don't need to travel far to enjoy a naturist ground. The Île-de-France region boasts four club grounds, each offering its own unique setting and warm welcome. Visitor conditions vary from club to club: always contact them before visiting.

Air et Soleil in Franconville (Val-d'Oise)

Founded in 1931, the Air et Soleil club is one of the oldest naturist clubs in France. Located about 20 minutes from Paris in a protected green belt, the Buttes du Parisis. The fully enclosed, tree-filled park spans 1 hectare with a pool, solarium, sauna, volleyball court, petanque pitch, archery range, terrace, and snack bar. The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming—ideal for a first experience. Non-members can visit for the day, by appointment only, with priority given to families and couples (single individuals may be accepted under certain conditions).

Le Club Gymnique de France in Villecresnes (Val-de-Marne)

This is the closest naturist club to Paris, less than 30 minutes away by car. The Club Gymnique de France covers 13 hectares in the heart of the Auteuil woods, with an FFN-affiliated association of about 200 members of all ages. Facilities include a heated pool, petanque, tennis, volleyball, and badminton courts, ping-pong table, sauna, trampoline, gym, large BBQ area, and snack bar. The club is closed in winter. For a first visit, don't forget your photo ID, as it will be requested at the entrance.

Les Hespérides in Étréchy (Essonne)

Located roughly 45 km south of Paris, Les Hespérides is a 3.3-hectare associative naturist campsite nestled in nature, focused on family, sports, and relaxation. The site features a pool, sauna, and facilities for petanque, volleyball, badminton, and ping-pong, along with pitch sites for tents and caravans. According to Essonne Tourism, it is open from May to October: confirm opening dates and visitor policies directly with the club.

The Club du Soleil de l'Essonne grounds

Located about 50 km south of Paris in Huison-Longueville, the Club du Soleil de l'Essonne is a 7-hectare site set deep in the forest within the Gâtinais Regional Natural Park. Equipped with two swimming pools, the grounds welcome day visitors and campers from May to October.

Head to the coast

If you crave the sea, the beaches of the Somme Bay and the English Channel (such as Berck-sur-Mer) are the fastest coastal spots accessible by train or car from Paris. You can find more ideas for outings in my guide on the most beautiful naturist beaches in France.

Tips for beginners in Paris

  1. Choose quiet times: If it's your first time at the Bois de Vincennes, visit in the morning or during weekdays.
  2. Join an association outing: Attending a pool session with the ANP or joining a Naktivity event is a great way to start in a relaxed and supportive environment.
  3. Explore a club ground: Several Île-de-France clubs welcome visitors by appointment. It's a smooth way to test naturism with family or as a couple before committing to a membership.
  4. In your bag: A towel, fabric seat pad, water bottle, and sunscreen are your best friends.
