Who is behind Nus au Soleil?
My name is Gabriel. I am an illustrator based in Bordeaux, and I have been a naturist for years.
Nus au Soleil was born from a simple observation: there are posters for almost every holiday destination, but nothing for naturist spots. Nothing that simply says "I love these places" without the need to explain yourself.
So, I started drawing. CHM Montalivet, the Calanque des Pierres Tombées, Guadeloupe, La Chiappa… Meaningful places, rendered in an illustrated style minimalist enough to hang anywhere—if you know, you know.
I used to work in a naturist village, an experience that deeply shaped my perspective. For me, naturism is not just about nudity—it is a relationship with the body, with nature, and with others that I wanted to celebrate in a way that photography cannot capture.
All illustrations are hand-drawn on a graphics tablet, with no AI involved. They are printed in France in small batches on premium quality paper. And the trip to the post office is made by bicycle.
The collection is growing slowly, inspired by new places and encounters.
